Gateway A.B.C boxer George Plumb (pictured here) claimed the England Boxing's no.2 vest at the 56kg limit despite defeat in the National Schoolboys Championships last Sunday.

In what was only his 4th bout, George travelled to Manchester to face the much more experienced Kyle Dugdale from Grange Park A.B.C and despite giving it his best shot, lost to a unanimous decision.

His trainer Paul "Chico" Bates said that he will now look for more bouts for the youngster with a view to entering him into further Championships.
